The QRF Peer Mentor Training Program is a specially designed set of courses that equip students to better provide peer mentoring to those so desperately in need of it.

The courses are not fluff. They were created by real veterans and peer mentors with years of experience in mentorship, who have themselves seen combat and brought home the physical and mental scars of tours in battle. The courses are authored in combination with doctors and other clinical health care providers with over a hundred years of combined experience treating PTSD and other trauma related mental health conditions faced by our society today.

Students who successfully complete the course receive a nationally recognized training certificate from the program. Providing the empathy, care and understanding to successfully mentor our brothers and sister who suffer from PTSD is a never ending journey. But the path to pulling them out of their darkest places and on to leading joyful, productive lives is one that begins here with QRF Peer Mentor Training.

Comprehensive Training and Certification

QRF Peer Mentor Training is a comprehensive training plan consisting of 14 modules and 1-on-1 role playing exercises that can be done in person or via video conference for remote students.

Modules range from orientation to the peer mentor roles, responsibilities and skills to in-depth topics such as dealing with moral injury, anger management, depression and suicide prevention.

The course ends with hope and teaches principles and practices for "breaking the chain" and giving our vets tools for recovery, relationship-building and health and well-being.

I hate counseling. I can't go talk to a shrink. Meeting with peer mentors has helped me get through a lot. I came to meetups for 6-9 months and just sat in the room and listened. I never had to speak. I wasn't ready. But over time I get to know people and I became ready to get things out. Over time things got really good for me and now I'm helping other veterans get started on their journeys. The people and the process are really smart. It just works.
